Bolded test shows definite plans. Friday Night - 8pm - Sheridan's Custard on 291 highway Saturday - 10am - meet at Fleming Park at Shelter 6 or 7 Probably best to take Wood's Chapel off 470, but be careful of the road works. - 10:30 - cruise - 12:30? - lunch at Paul's place - BBQ - please bring something if possible (or a few dollars to chip in), and make sure it can survive the heat during the cruise. - Go karts - http://www.sadlersindoorracing.com/ (check site for pricing for 15 or 20 minutes - if we get 10 people we get a discount) - another cruise? - Photoshoot around downtown KC - Dinner (plan on around $10-$15) - Sonic in Olathe |

Is that the 135th and Blackbob, or another one? Also, do they do that Friday or Saturday nights, or both? |

Yeah I didn't get any feedback about people wanting or not wanting to go to the drive-in so I think we'll probably forego it this time. I think with the extra cost and how late it goes people might not be up for it after a full day. |

I'm down for just about anything, so long as it doesn't break the bank too much... That drive in (The Twin) is still open as far as I know, I just don't know what will be playing. I'll most likely be joining in Saturday, I'm busy on Friday nights. It is also looking like it will just be the Sol and I, my girlfriend has to go to a week-long conference in Texas and is going to leave on Saturday so she can visit her Dad before the conference. I still need to check the go-kart pricing, I can't view it on this computer and keep forgetting to check it on another... |

Also, food...anyone have any special requests on where/what to eat? I was thinking a cheapish place for lunch and maybe up at the Plaza for dinner? Don't worry, there are a few places up there where you eat for relatively cheap. |

Yeah, just avoid the M&S and Plaza One Steakhouse... The food is great, but that + go-karts + fuel for cars would bring a single day to over $100 really easily. There are lots of really good places to eat on the Plaza and in Westport (and the rest of downtown), it just depends on the kind of food you want. I'm a fan of world cuisine, so I'm down for anything. Unfortunately, most of the really good places I know that you can eat cheap at are of some variety of ethnic food that might not have something for everyone (I can think of both a REALLY good Indian place and a Mediteranian / Jewish cafe). For an easy-to-please, All-American meal, I would suggest the pub that is on the corner by the Beaumont Club - they brew their own beer there and have standard bar & grill fare, all for a price that is nice on the wallet. You can pay for two people to eat well there for less than a 20 minute go-kart run, but you will want to spend a little more and get a couple of the house-brewed beers (I'm not a huge beer fan, but I even love their in-house brews). They do allow people under 21 in too since they serve food, so that shouldn't be a problem. The only problem would be finding parking for 13+ Sols on a Saturday night in Westport... Not that the Plaza would be any better. |

Oh - one thing I should mention... I have several dogs that will need to be taken care of at some point in the evening, so I may have to split for an hour or so in order to take care of them. Just depends on how late we keep it together for the meet. I'll probably do it right after the dinner run - I'll go home and let them out and feed them, then come back to the meet (unless we want to drag 13 Sols to my place outside the Independence city limits, there are picnic grounds right down the street - literally - that we could chill out at if we want). |

I don't think it would work out... My girlfriend and I have a good size place and lots of pets, 6 of which are dogs. Sweetie - 10 year old Rott/Pit mix, has degernative bone growths because her first owner tried to starve her to death as a puppy. Very friendly, gets along great with big dogs, but has something against small dogs. Lexie - 11 year old Collie, very sweet dog that has had a stroke and needs help getting up sometimes... also dumber than a box of rocks (she will turn around, hit a wall, and fall down) Money - unknown age, but at least 9 - lab mix, blind, confrontational with animals she doesn't know (because she can't see them). Got her name because she wandered into the street and was hit by Megan's (my girlfriend) car and Megan rushed her to the emergency vet, costing a ton of money. Lucky - 2-3 year old blondie lab, very energetic and loving. Adopted her to save her from being put down by the Independence Animal Shelter... got her at the last minute too, hence her name. Buddy - 12 year old mini-schnauzer, has to be kept in a spare room because he is terrified of being outside alone, but never has caught on to the whole house-breaking bit. Used to belong to Megan's sister, who left him tethered outside all the time, even in bad storms. Heidi - 11 year old mini-schnauzer, kept with Buddy because she never caught on to being house broke. Really dumb dog, she got confused during house breaking and didn't realize it was bad to go to the bathroom in the house - she thought she was bad for going to the bathroom at all... she will hold it until she can't any more and then goes where she is. As you can tell, we are the home of wayward pets, both of us being animal lovers. They are all really loving, but all of them (other than Lucky) have something about them that would make them undesirable in many homes. We also have a cat collection and a chilean rose-hair tarantula. Most of our animals are REALLY old. The only young animals we have are: Lucky (see above) Crow and Phantom (two kittens that were dumped by our house last year, 1-year old) Juliet (3-4 year old cat that was found when we were searching for a cat that got out of the house - Romeo. We called for Romeo and heard meows, found a tiny tortise shell calico sitting on the fence, half starved to death - one of the most loving cats I've ever seen too). All of the other cats are over 10 years old, the dogs are all really old too, and the tarantula has gone more than 5 years beyond normal life expectancy for a wild-caught Rose Hair living as a pet. When the time comes that these animals start to die, it is going to be like dominos. Yeah, we have a zoo, but we are the only two people living in a 6-bedroom house on over an acre - so we have the room for them all. We don't have kids, don't really want them either, so our pets ARE like our kids. |

You're down in Olathe right? Do you think maybe Saturday lunch would be an option for a BBQ? That'd be great as we'll be heading down there for the go-karts anyway. |
