Well gonna try the new features here ... you can change your vote ... and you can see the results before you vote
The idea is to try to come up with a date and how many will attend
The poll will run through next Tuesday ... (Sep 22 would be a bit of a hurry-up but it could be done.
If you are sure you are going to attend, please pm me with contact information so that I can keep you in the loop on the plans.
The format would be similar to the last meet I planned ... a meeting place here in St. Charles (Swap meet to precede) ... a cruise from the meeting place to an eating place for a late lunch .... continue the cruise ... to the go kart track on N 94 (for a group, 2 heats of 5 laps for $16, buy as many as you like, up to 20 cars on the track at once. A heat is 4 miles.)
Then cruise to Chuck-A-Burger to roust out all the BIG IRON classic cars ... and then maybe on to Sonic around 8:30 ish when the cars show up there ...
and perhaps the NOPI gals again as well!
Alternatives ... we could participate in the car show at E.P.C on Oct 13th ... (
http://www.epcusa.com/index.php?set_alb ... _album.php ) info on last years event ...
http://www.classiccarfest.com/ and info on the upcoming event.
Of course we could have our own cruise before or after the car show ... etc. ...
What do you folks think
oh .. yeah ... here is a proposed route ... special attention has been paid to provide roads that are "lowered" friendly ... (see ... I actually listened to those who attended the March Meet!)
http://pics.cotton.cd/Fall%20Meet.htmStop 6 is a very scenic area in Pere Marquette where we could have a nice lunch and photo shoot - cost per person could be about $5-8 ... depending on what the menu is ... Possibilities: we do a bbq with hot dogs or burgers or we could just buy Bandana's BBQ and sides or Fried Chicken & sides along with bottled water or soda ... of course, i would need to collect for lunch at the meeting site in the morning. I kinda think it would be simplest to just get bulk quantities of BBQ from Bandana and have a nice lunch without having to worry about charcoal and grills and cooking and such ... besides it is quick, easy, and very inexpensive. Tammy (my wife) would just go get all the lunch supplies and drinks and such and get everything prepared for us at the park for an early afternoon lunch (she would take the shortcut across the Golden Eagle Ferry!) This location has the river as a backdrop or ... the wooded hills along the Mississippi as a backdrop ... your choice ... very nice there! If we luck out ... we could even use one of the 3 shelters if they aren't already reserved by another group. There are restrooms and water there too. (Reserving a shelter there is a $150 charge so we just have to be lucky and hope there is one available but there are still picnic tables and a nice area we could use anyway. I would suggest bringing a folding chair ...)
Stop 8 is the Go Kart track.
This itinerary has us initially meeting at Chuck-A-Burger (*they now server breakfast!!! -- and there is enough room for all of us to gather, facilities, and food, and coffee - and I am sure that it would be just fine with them) ... and returning there at the end of our cruise lunch go kart adventures.
