I've posted a new thread on this ...
In any case, whether many folks come or not -- My wife and I will have a wonderful seeing & driving through the colorful fall foliage and fields just north of here in Illinois.
We often drive through the land between the rivers (Mississippi & Illinois) and along the Mississippi or Missouri as weather permits in the spring and fall and much less frequently in the Summer. We find it to be scenic, beautiful, and relaxing. Often we just meander. We usually take along a minimal overnight bag just in case night finds us far afield. On one "drive" we visited most/all? of the vineyards between Saint Louis and Hermann (mostly along MO Hwy 94) and just enjoyed the pleasant drive. As darkness fell, we found ourselves in a quaint winery in Hermann enjoying a fabulous repast accompanied by a bottle of local wine. After dinner, we decided to stay the night and returned home the next morning. It is wonderful to have spontaneous "adventures".
